I think there shouldn't be small GIF pictures, or GIF pictures at all. GIF only provides 256 colours, making pictures not show original colour. PNG, however, has way better quality, as PNG was supposed to be a improvement of GIF. --Yonder 17:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I think we'll leave it as it is now. In any case it's better to have either all GIF or all PNG, than to have a mix of both. But if you really feel that it is absolutely neccessary to use PNG over GIF, we'll revamp all the pictures once again, no problem. --bewnt 23:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Use this category or the subcategories?[]

Shall we make use of this category or the subcategory [[:Category:Screenshots]] and include all images to these categories? It would provide a gallery of all images. The system only offers:

But it's some really boring work to categorize 277 images ...

Btw: I think "Screenshots" is not displayed as subcategory of "Images" because it's empty.--Justme2 14:24, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

What is the use of having all the pictures in one category? It's kind of like placing all articles into Category:Content or Category:Articles (which doesn't even exist) - pointless. I don't foresee anyone referring to Category:Images/Screenshots for anything. --bewnt 14:29, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually we are placing all articles in the Category:Content or one of its subcategories (most of them in: Content -> Java Games -> "Insert game name here" -> "And maybe a game subcategory").
I recently was looking if we already had a certain image uploaded or if it's still missing. And I wasn't completly sure about the name, because several different names would have been possible. But I agree, it's too much work for too less benefit. --Justme2 15:54, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
But we do not place articles directly into Category:Content... as you said, it's too much work for too less benefit. This category should be used for miscellaneous images, if there exist any. --bewnt 16:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
