Crystals are compo items in Stick Ranger. They can be classified into two groups: offense crystals and defense crystals, which increase AT and defense, respectively. Selling crystals at the shop yields 150$ for each level of the crystal. Crystals are usually found after stones. Below is a list of the different kinds of crystals and their effects.

List of all crystals[]

Block small

The pink number "0" shows that the attack of an enemy has been blocked recently by using a Black Crystal.

Effect explanation: Whenever an enemy attacks this character, there is a chance that all of the damage dealt will be nullified. This is represented by a pink "0" damage number. This applies to physical as well as magical attacks, but status ailments such as slow, poison or freeze are unaffected by this.

Level 6 Defense +15 Grey Boss Demon Stickman (Forest 5) - 900
Level 7 Defense +18 Red Diamond Snake (Cavern 8) - 1050

Composition restriction: no restrictions

Effect explanation: Decreases the damage dealt to this character by projectiles. Damage of projectiles cannot be reduced below 1. This applies to physical attacks only.

Note: When deciding whether to have a Black, Silver or Purple Crystal for character defense, the preference is circumstantial. Attacks of high repetition, either magical or physical, that deal one damage per hit are best with a Black Crystal, because it can reduce average damage per hit below one. Standard physical attacks between 2 and 20 are best with the Silver Crystal, since it reduces the average hit the most. Magical attacks of the same damage are best suited for the Purple Crystal, and higher damages are best with the Black Crystal. In VS Mode, the LV6 version is capable of essentially nullifying the Boxer's Needle Claw 6, greatly hampering any of the Whipper's "Thorn" series weapons, and almost halving the effect of the Angel's Quick Chakram 6. Overall, the Black Crystal is the best investment for most situations, since it works against both types of attacks, and significantly reduces the impact of high damage, frequent attacks.

Level 1 AT +(1-3) Grey Smiley Snake (Grassland 1) 1200 150
Level 2 AT +(2-6) Red Cap Snake (Cavern 1) 2400 300
Level 3 AT +(3-9) Orange Mask Eel (Submarine 3) 3600 450
Level 4 AT +(4-12) Red Big Diamond Spider (Desert 5) 4800 600
Level 5 AT +(5-15) Red Diamond Tree (Mountain 1) 6000 750
Level 6 AT +(6-18) Orange Roundhead Stickman (Forest 5) - 900
Level 7 AT +(7-21) Orange Diamond Bat (Cavern 7) - 1050

Composition restriction: gloves, swords, bows, guns, whips or rings

Effect explanation: Increases the minimum and maximum AT of the character by a certain amount.

Note: This Crystal does not affect magical damage. The AT bonus from this crystal can be boosted by the Priest's AT aura.

Level 1 AT +20% Red Skull Snake (Grassland 1) 1200 150
Level 2 AT +30% Pink Fairy Bat (Cavern 2) 2400 300
Level 3 AT +40% Orange Mask Eel (Submarine 3) 3600 450
Level 4 AT +50% Yellow Big Diamond Cactus (Desert 5) 4800 600
Level 5 AT +60% Olive Diamond Tree (Mountain 1) 6000 750
Level 6 AT +70% Yellow Roundhead Stickman (Forest 5) - 900
Level 7 AT +80% Green Boss Cap Tree (Cavern 7) - 1050

Composition restriction: gloves, swords, bows, guns, whips or rings

Effect explanation: Increases both minimum and maximum AT of the character by a certain percentage of its current value.

Note: This crystal does not affect elemental damage. The bonus multiplies with Aura AT of one or more Priests. For example, if a Yellow Crystal 1 is equipped for a Gladiator, and a nearby Priest has 30% Aura AT, the character AT of the Gladiator increases by about 56% (computed with factors: 120% × 130% = 1.2 × 1.3 = 1.56 = 156%). The crystal can be generally better than the Red Crystal.

Purple Crystal Purple Crystal

Level 1 Magical Defense 10% Pink Skull Snake (Grassland 5) 1200 150
Level 2 Magical Defense 20% Blue Skull Bat (Cavern 2) 2400 300
Level 3 Magical Defense 30% Blue Roundhead Fish (Submarine 3) 3600 450
Level 4 Magical Defense 40% Cyan Box Eel (Desert 5) 4800 600
Level 5 Magical Defense 50% Blue Diamond Wheel (Mountain 1) 6000 750
Level 6 Magical Defense 60% Blue Roundhead Stickman (Forest 5) - 900
Level 7 Magical Defense 70% Red Boss Gel Tree (Cavern 8) - 1050

Composition restriction: no restrictions

Effect explanation: Reduces the damage dealt to this character by magical attacks and their time of effect on this character by a certain percentage of it's current value.

Note: For attacks of type Fire or Thunder, the damage taken is reduced. For attacks of type Poison, Ice or Freeze, both the AT of the attack and the time of effect are reduced. In VS Mode, as the vast majority of high-damage output weapons are magical, this is an optimal pairing with the Black Crystal when going for a pure-defense compo setup. However, such a setup may easily fall prey to a Boxer wielding Needle Claw 6 should that Boxer get a chance to attack.

Trivia[]

  • The Black Crystal 3, Silver Crystal 1, and Silver Crystal 2 are three of the few compo items which can be dropped by two or more enemies.
  • When the LV5 Crystals were just released in ver10.9, they had the same stats as the LV4 ones except the selling price due to a mistake in the code. This was almost immediately fixed.
