Hell 1-6 follow Snowfield 9, while Hell 7-8, Hell Gate and Hell Castle follow Cavern 8. Hell 1, 5, 6 and 7 use the same landscape as the Opening Street, while Hell 2, 3 and 8 use a new landscape. Hell 4 uses the landscape of the Mountain 1 and 2 instead. Hell Gate uses the landscape of the Castle Gate. Hell Castle uses a completely flat landscape with a new tileset.
The ground of Hell 1-8 is a dark gray color, similar to the Castle stages, but with a slightly darker hue. It also doesn't appear to be made out of bricks like the previously mentioned stage. The top of the ground is covered with a white layer of what is presumed to be ash.
List of Hell stages
There are ten stages in the Hell series, making this currently the largest series in the game.
In Hell 2, 3 and 8, at the last part of the landscape showing two square platforms diagonally next to each other, there is a rare chance that a character can get stuck in between them by their feet being placed in the right position and sliding their lower body in between the platforms. This immobilizes the character, but it will still attack albeit a much more difficult time trying to do so. Usually, this is not supposed to happen, as trying to drag the character in between the platforms will either act like dragging it into the ground, or cluster around the platform. Forcibly getting a character stuck in between them is not easy to do, but is possible.
