The Tree is an enemyspecies in Stick Ranger. It is the first species that the player encounters in the game that lacks the ability to move; thus, weapons of type Fire are useful against them. Trees tend to stretch themselves towards characters that outrange them, and they will attack once the distance between their head and the character is in their attack range. It has a random number of squares below it, and sways sideways frequently. Attacks vary from tree to tree, but they are almost all ranged. In ver16.8 an alternate version of Trees was introduced which is essentially an inverted Tree, with the head also inverted. Trees hold the largest population of species in Stick Ranger, as of ver17.3. There are 45 different Trees throughout the game thus far. (43 normal and 2 inverted)
Since ver16.8, a new tree variant has been introduced that looks nearly the same as the other trees, but is upside down (head included) and is attached to the ceiling of the terrain. They are rooted to the spot like their right side up counterparts, and can also sway like them as well. This can make it difficult or nearly impossible for Boxers, and certain weapons for Gladiators and Whippers to reach them, depending on the height of the ceiling to the ground. Weapons like the Flame Blade 6 and the Lightsaber 6 can be activated by a ground enemy, then dragged to the tree. Weapons like the Thorn Flail 6 can be activated by a ground enemy, then the projectiles travel up, striking the trees.
